Introduction: Volition is the motivation for “doing” arises from internal characteristics and the external environment where the individual is, can be affected in situations of change, impacting on the performance and adaptation of the person to the new context. Objective: To characterize the volition of a group of pregnant women at high obstetric risk in front of an educational activity of prenatal stimulation. Materials and Methods: Observational, descriptive, cross-sectional study with 40 pregnant women. For the collection of information, the Volitive Questionnaire V / Q was used, the data were analyzed through Stata 13, expressed in measures of central tendency, dispersion, absolute and relative frequencies. Results: The pregnant women are in an initial state of exploration, reason why motivation was evidenced when participating in the teaching of prenatal stimulation. Conclusion: The teaching of prenatal stimulation is a significant activity that promotes component volition in high-risk hospitalized pregnant women, allows hospitalization to be experienced in a different way, counteracting the clinical symptomatology that is suffered.
