Abstract

Introduction. The ADLs have diverse perspectives for their instrumentalization (1). This paper presents a review about the prevalent uses of ADL in Occupational Therapy (T.O) and related areas, comparing them with these perspectives. Objective Determine which instrumentation is done of the ADL in T.O and related areas. Materials and methods. Review from SCOPUS - ELSEVIER under the terms: Activities of Daily Living and Daily activities between 2007 and 2017. They are classified by the following parameters: population (age and diagnosis); Methodological trends; Results contrasted with the instrumentalization of the AVDs of Romero and Moruno (1). Results. The perspectives of the studies are: those that determine the affectation of the ADLs as a result of physical, mental or cognitive alterations; those that determine the variables that favor or limit the ADL development; Those that point out the role of ADLs in infant development; And those that consider ADLs in their complexity and relationship with sociocultural factors. Conclusions. There is a lack of studies that focus on the value of ADLs in child development that go beyond the disability / illness and independence relationship.
