The goal of this article is to analyze the existent relation between the process of reentering the formal work market and Burnout syndrome. It is assumed that looking for a new job demands investment, organization of time and commitment. Thus, the worker is exposed to a number of stressful factors which, if presistent, might lead to Burnout. The analysis is performed according to the theoretical methods of Burnout syndrome proposed by Edelwich and Brodsky; Maslach and Jackson. This article ends considering prevention and treatment of Burnout syndrome in workers in situation of unemployment.
