This article describes the perceptions that young political authorities elected in Peru from
2015 to 2018 have about institutional policy. Variables such as education, employment,
youth participation, political trajectories, as well as the perceptions young authorities
have about democracy, politics and youth conditions have been considered for such
purpose. 172 surveys were taken to these actors at the VI National Meeting of Young
Political Authorities held in the city of Lima. The perceptions are characterized by
tracing differentiated youth conditions in education and work-related matters, as well as
those meanings associating democracy and politics with the discussion about the public
matter and common good.
