The present article was written in the context of a study called Levantamiento de Aspiraciones de Estudiantes que optan por la Educación Técnica Profesional en Chile (“A Survey on Aspirations of Vocational Education Students in Chile”), carried out by Núcleo de Investigación y Acción en Juventudes at University of Chile in 2023. This work covers the aspects of the study related to past experiences that have influenced the decision-making process to trace their educational and labor trajectories; we will identify factors affecting their path on both a personal level and an environmental level. This qualitative study uses in-depth interviews as its main data collection method.
